Dr. Haller is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in surgical, pediatric and general eye care for patients of all ages, including special-needs pediatrics.
Dr. Haller is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in surgical, pediatric, adult, geriatric and general eye care for patients of all ages, including special-needs pediatrics. Dr. Haller attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City’s accelerated BA/MD program and received his medical degree from the Ross University Medical School, where he graduated with highest honors.
While in college, Dr. Haller was a member of the nation’s highest honor society, Omicron Delta Kappa. Dr. Haller completed his internship and residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York City and served as Ophthalmology Chief Resident at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center (2008-2009). While a Chief Resident, he was nominated as a finalist by the Medical State Society of NY for the Resident Leadership Award in NY state.
Dr. Haller has extensive clinical experience in primary vision care and comprehensive ophthalmology and performs laser and surgical procedures for patients with glaucoma, cataracts, retina and diabetic problems. Dr. Haller is also certified by VisX to perform LASIK and other laser vision correction procedures.
Dr. Haller is a member of the New York State Ophthalmologic Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Queens Ophthalmologic Society, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology and The Medical Society of the State of New York.
Dr. Haller has been a frequent guest on local and national television and was a guest ophthalmology consultant to the Discovery Channel. Dr. Haller has won numerous awards, including the “Cornea Special Interest Research Project” Award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) 2008 Annual Conference, Patients’ Choice Award (2010-2019) and the Compassionate Doctor Award (2011-2019), Most Honored 1% Doctors in America Award (2015-2019).
Dr. Haller was awarded Top Ophthalmologist in New York State (2013), Top Ophthalmologist in the Bronx (2013) and Most Influential Doctor in the Bronx Region (2013) by HealthTap and is a winner of the Basic Science Research Award at the Medical State Society of the State of New York Annual Resident/Fellow Research Symposium in 2009. He was also ranked by Vitals.com as one of the TOP 1% of OPHTHALMOLOGISTS in NY State AND the United States 10 years in a row (2011-2021)! Dr. Tod was also accepted into the Marquis Who’s Who in America in 2017 and remains up until today. He was also awarded The Albert Neilson Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 for his great work with special-needs children.
